FRRR $20,000 Grant toward Yea Studio

April 28, 2014

The Foundation for Rural and Regional Renewal has granted UGFM nearly $20,000 toward the completion of the new studio to be constructed in Yea for UGFM – Radio Murrindindi.

This generous grant from FRRR means that construction of the studio in Yea can now precede full steam ahead as we have now received nearly $30,000 in grants toward the $40,000 project.

Upper Goulburn Community Radio has already put in $5,000 along with the many 100’s of man hours required to complete the studio.

It is anticipated that the new studio in Yea, that will feed programs produced by local presenters in Yea, into the UGFM program grid will be completed later this Year, meaning programs from Yea will be heard right across the Murrindindi Shire and surrounds from the Yea studio.

The remaining funds to fully complete the studio are hoped to be raised locally, along with great local community groups such as the Yea Men’s Shed and businesses like Yenken’s Mitre 10 Hardware supporting the project.
