New Outside Broadcast Van Project

The replacement for our aged and retired Outside Broadcast van (houseboat) is coming closer to reality with the Foundation for Rural and Regional Renewal announcing that UGFM – Radio Murrindindi is to receive $20,000 toward the project. This will enable UGFM to purchase a van that will be self contained and easily set up to attend various community events and activities that occur around our licensed broadcast area being predominantly the Murrindindi Shire and surrounds.

UGFM receives many request to attend, promote and interact with the many people, community groups and clubs in our community through radio broadcasts live from the many community activities held every week in the shire. The OB van will enable UGFM to broadcast from almost anywhere we can drive to and broadcast to listeners on UGFM through our 5 transmitters located across the listening area.

Outside broadcasts help strengthen the community by including listeners in activities held at various locations, providing local information and news. This also helps promote wellbeing and resilience in the community at large through talking with people from all walks of life about a whole range of topic and issues that also helps to strengthen the community as well.

The OB van will also be very helpful in times of fire or emergencies requiring broadcasts from locations near the emergency or as a backup studio in the event of a major disaster. If you would like to assist financially by donating toward the purchase of our new OB van please let us know.
