Broadcasting from the Alexandra Truck Ute and Rod Show
UGFM Broadcast live from the 23rd Alexandra Truck Ute and Rod Show. The new Outside Broadcast Unit is nearly completed and was put to the test broadcasting live from 9.30 am – 1 pm with help from UGFM presenters and guests.
Bones host of Highway One live on UGFM Saturday Nights even caught up with Yogi from Outback Truckers who was here for the Truck Show.
The new OB unit has come to fruition through the generous support of the Marysville & Triangle Community Foundation and FRRR with additional support from local business and volunteers.
The new OB unit will be able attend and promote community events across the Murrindindi Shire once completed in the coming months.
The OB van will link live back to the Alexandra Studios then broadcast out across the UGFM network where listeners will be able to hear happenings news and information anywhere in the shire and around the world on-line.
Substantial grants from the Marysville and Triangle Community Foundation and the Foundation for Rural and Regional Renewal made possible the purchase of the Ford Transit Van.
The cost of fitting out to become a mobile Outside Broadcast unit thanks to Vic Forests, Alexandra Signs, Murrindindi Kitchens and funds from UGFM’s small reserve.
Peter Weeks, UGFM – Radio Murrindindi President said “We are very grateful for the grants of $30,000 from MTCF and $20,000 from the FRRR that have enabled this wonderful community project to come to fruition, it will make it possible to broadcasting from almost anywhere.
The OB Unit can operate from its auxiliary mains power generator and also has battery backup for short breaks in power should mains power be lost. Many hours has gone into cabling audio, data, power, lighting and sound proofing during the fit out.
